September 2, 2020

The U.S. Department of Energy's ARPA-E has announced $29 million in funding for 14 new fusion projects. The new effort, called GAMOW, is aimed at closing "multiple fusion-specific technological gaps that will be needed to connect a net-energy-gain fusion core, once it is ready, to a deployable, commercially attractive fusion system." GAMOW is jointly sponsored by ARPA-E and the DOE Fusion Energy Science program.
